Club Activities

On June 9th, The Club held its annual Kids Clinic at Shabbonna State Park in Shabbonna, Illinois.  About 40 kids and their parents, grandparents and friends participated in a round robin set of teaching stations.   There was instruction in water safety, casting, rigging and fishing techniques, and one member brought his tournament rigged Lund 2025 to display to everyone.  The Club provided all of the instruction , a free lunch of burgers and hotdogs, and bait for the kids and their family to use.  This is the third year that this activity has been scheduled at Shabbonna State Park on Illinois’ Free Fishing Day (No one needs a license for the weekend).  This event is made possible by the members volunteering their time and resources and providing the funding by various club events throughout the year.  This is one of the Club’s most successful events and helps to insure the future of fishing for generations to come.
